BIRD WATCHING SAFARI
7 DAYS / 6 NIGHTS
This 7-day birding safari, starting and ending in Kampala, offers a broad and immersive exploration of Uganda’s most significant birding landscapes, carefully selected for their ecological diversity and species richness. Designed for travelers with a keen interest in birds, the experience combines knowledgeable guiding, well-paced exploration, and a high level of comfort throughout.
Birding takes place across a remarkable range of habitats, from the papyrus-fringed wetlands of Mabamba Bay, renowned for the elusive shoebill and a wealth of wetland specialists, to the open savannahs, acacia woodlands, and lake systems of Lake Mburo National Park, home to an impressive mix of waterbirds, raptors, and dry-country species.
The journey extends into the montane forests of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, one of Africa’s most important sites for forest birding. Here, guided walks focus on Albertine Rift endemics and rare species found only within this ancient ecosystem, accompanied by the constant backdrop of forest sounds and layered vegetation.
In contrast, Semuliki National Park introduces lowland tropical forest and riverine environments, supporting a distinct assemblage of Central African bird species seldom encountered elsewhere in East Africa. The experience is completed in Murchison Falls National Park, where birding along the Nile, riverbanks, and surrounding savannah reveals a rich variety of waterbirds, woodland species, and birds of prey, framed by sweeping landscapes and the dramatic presence of the Nile.
Throughout the safari, accommodation is carefully selected to offer comfort, excellent locations, and quality service, ensuring a relaxed and rewarding birding experience.
